Equality and Diversity Learning Resources

These learning resources can support you to meet the Equality and Diversity KSF dimension

Diversity, equal opportunities and human rights
Equality and diversity are central to the NHS, in terms of both employment and service delivery. The diversity, equal opportunities and human rights e-learning module from the London Deanery explores the key principles in relation to equality and diversity. Following the module there is a list of recommended learning activities to help you put the learning into practice. Please note that the module was designed for use by doctors and not all of the learning activities will be suitable for pharmacy staff.

Equality and Diversity: National Occupational Standards (NOS)

HSC234: Ensure your own actions support the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of individuals (suitable for all staff)
HSC3111: Promote the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of individuals (suitable for all staff)

How can NOS be used?

Skills for Health promote the use of NOS and have linked NOS to the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF). It is likely that the use of NOS will become much more widespread within the NHS and will be used by individuals and employers for a number of purposes including:
  • Individual development / appraisal
  • To identify learning needs and as evidence for the KSF
  • Team development
  • Role design and re-design
